In fact, he received tenure the following year and continued to teach in the district for three more years.
Following his time as a regular classroom teacher, Rodney Wilson moved on to teach G.E.D. programs for inmates in Massachusetts. Eventually, he returned to Missouri and remained active in National L.G.B.T. History Month events. He continues to participate in virtual activities for the holiday he helped create.
