Stephen Lawrence Day is an annual commemoration held on April 22 in remembrance of a young black teenager named Stephen Lawrence. He tragically lost his life in a racially motivated attack on the same day in 1993 while he was waiting for a bus in Plumstead, south-east London. This recommendation was implemented in 2005 through the “Criminal Justice Act 2003.” The 1999 “Macpherson Report” is considered a significant milestone in the history of criminal justice in Britain. According to Jack Straw, the decision to launch the inquiry was the most important action he took during his tenure as Home Secretary from 1997 to 2001. In 2010, the case was still recognized as one of the most prominent unsolved racially motivated killings.
