The second forest day was held in Poland in 2008 and attracted nearly 900 participants discussing climate change. Copenhagen, Denmark hosted the third forest day, which saw 1,500 stakeholders, including 500 members from non-governmental organizations, attending. The fourth forest day took place in Cancun, Mexico, with the theme “Time to Act”. Over 1,000 individuals from 80 nations participated in the fifth forest day held in Durban, South Africa. The sixth forest day was hosted by Doha, Qatar in 2012, focusing on topics such as adaptation funding and desertification. As a result of these forest days, the United Nations General Assembly established the International Day of Forests, also known as World Forestry Day, on November 28, 2012.
